Welcome Your Baby with Timeless Newborn Portraits
The first weeks with your newborn pass in a blur of tiny fingers, sleepy smiles, and quiet moments you’ll wish you could hold onto forever.
I create beautiful, heirloom-quality portraits with you that preserve these memories while providing a calm, baby-led experience for your family.
As both a professional newborn photographer in Medina County and a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist, I bring nearly three decades of experience working with infants to every session. Parents can relax knowing their baby’s comfort and safety are always my highest priority.

Why Choose Me?
Experience You Can Trust
Your baby’s safety comes before every photograph.
For nearly 30 years I’ve worked professionally with infants and children in pediatric healthcare. My background allows me to recognize infant cues, support comfortable positioning, and create a relaxed session centered around your baby’s needs.
I have also completed specialized professional newborn photography education, combining medical knowledge with artistic expertise to create timeless portraits your family will treasure.
When Should Newborn Photos Be Taken?
The ideal time for newborn portraits is during the first 5–21 days after birth.
During this stage babies are typically:
- Sleepier
- More naturally curled
- Comfortable being gently posed
- Less easily disturbed
Because babies arrive on their own schedule, I recommend reserving your session during the second trimester or early third trimester. We’ll hold your due date on my calendar and schedule the exact session after your baby arrives.
What Happens During Your Session?
Your newborn session takes place in my comfortable Valley City studio, designed specifically with new parents in mind.
Your session includes:
- Baby-led pacing
- Plenty of time for feeding and cuddling
- Soft wraps and beautiful accessories
- Family and sibling portraits
- Individual newborn portraits
- Comfortable seating for parents
- Warm studio environment to keep baby cozy
There is never any rush. Babies set the pace. I always prepare you so you know what to expect.
Family and Sibling Portraits
Your newborn changes your entire family.
That’s why I encourage parents and siblings to be included in your session. These images often become the photographs families treasure most years later.
Simple, timeless posing keeps the focus exactly where it belongs—on your growing family.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my newborn session?
Most families reserve their newborn session during pregnancy, usually in the second trimester or early third trimester, to guarantee a spot on my calendar. Since newborn portraits are best captured within the first 5–21 days after birth, booking ahead means your date is secured no matter when your little one decides to arrive.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
No problem at all. Your due date simply holds a place on my calendar and is never treated as a hard deadline. Once your baby arrives, just reach out and we’ll schedule your exact session together, timed to when your newborn is at their sleepiest and most naturally curled.
Do you provide wraps, outfits, and props?
Yes. I provide a full collection of wraps, outfits, hats, and headbands, so you don’t need to buy or bring a thing. That said, if there’s something sentimental you’d love included, like a hand-knit blanket or a family heirloom, feel free to bring it along.
Can siblings and parents participate?
Absolutely, and I encourage it. Sibling and family portraits taken during your newborn session often become some of the most treasured images in the whole gallery, especially a few years down the road.
How long does a newborn session take?
Most newborn sessions last between 2–3 hours. That may sound long for one small baby, but that time allows for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and settling. Nothing is rushed — babies set the pace, not the clock.
What if my baby won’t stop crying or settle down?
This is completely normal, and it’s exactly what I’m prepared for. As a pediatric physical therapist, I know how to read a newborn’s cues and help them settle through swaddling, sound, warmth, and patience. We simply pause, soothe, and pick back up whenever your baby is ready.
Is it safe to pose my newborn in those curled, sleepy poses?
Yes. Those poses work with a newborn’s natural, still-curled muscle tone from the womb, not against it. My healthcare background means I’m always watching your baby’s comfort and safety first, and I only use poses that are appropriate for that specific baby that day.
Where do newborn sessions take place?
Sessions are held in my comfortable, warm studio in Valley City, designed specifically with new parents and newborns in mind, with soft lighting, a cozy temperature, and plenty of space for the whole family to relax.
Do we receive digital images, prints, or both?
You’ll have the option for both. I offer beautiful heirloom products, including wall art, albums, and digital collections, so your newborn portraits can live somewhere more lasting than just a phone.
