I photograph both as part of my Milestone sessions, designed to capture your baby exactly as they are at each stage.

Sitter Sessions
Sitter sessions are scheduled at approximately 6 to 8 months, once your baby can sit up on their own — usually right around the time their personality really starts to show.
This is a fun, relaxed stage to photograph: babies at this age are curious, expressive, and often full of giggles, but not yet mobile enough to make sitting still impossible. We’ll capture that sweet, in-between moment before your baby is up and moving on their own.
First Birthday Cake Smash
Cake Smash sessions are scheduled by around 14 months of age, timed to celebrate your baby’s first birthday.
This session is exactly what it sounds like — a joyful, messy, completely unscripted celebration of your baby’s first year, cake and all. Whether your baby dives in headfirst or is a little more cautious about the frosting, the genuine reactions are what make these images so special.
Cake smash sessions can be photographed indoors in the studio or outdoors, depending on your chosen theme and the weather — we’ll figure out what setting works best together.

To keep things safe for babies with food allergies, I ask that families bring their own cake for cake smash sessions rather than supplying one myself. If you’d like to bring specific props or decor to match a theme, feel free — just let me know ahead of time so we can plan the session together.
Can we book a sitter session and a cake smash session together?
Yes. Many families book both as part of their baby’s first year, and I also offer a 3-session Milestone Bundle that pairs a Newborn and Family Studio session with a Sitter session and a First Birthday Cake Smash — reach out for details.
