About

I'm Regina Thompson, a Cleveland-area newborn and family photographer — and also a board-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy with nearly 30 years of pediatric clinical experience. That combination is rare, and it shapes everything about how I work with babies and families.

Hi, I'm Regina

Welcome to my website

For nearly three decades, I have devoted my professional life to caring for babies, children, and the families who love them.

As a Board-Certified Pediatric Physical Therapist, I have spent thousands of hours supporting infants and young children through developmental challenges, celebrating milestones, comforting worried parents, and witnessing firsthand the extraordinary journey of childhood. Helping children thrive has never simply been my profession—it has been my calling.

But long before I held babies in my arms, I held a camera in my hands.

Photography has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. As a young girl, I was fascinated by the power of a photograph to preserve a feeling, a season of life, or a fleeting moment that would never come again. My father gave me my first camera—a Minolta—and I quickly fell in love with the idea that a single image could transport us back to a cherished memory. While my career led me into pediatric healthcare, my love for photography quietly grew alongside it for decades.

Eventually, I realized these two passions were not separate paths at all.

They were naturally leading me to the same place.

Both pediatric physical therapy and photography are rooted in connection. Both require patience, trust, observation, and an appreciation for the beauty found in small moments. In the therapy room, I help families celebrate developmental milestones. Behind the camera, I help them preserve those milestones forever.

My years working with newborns, infants, toddlers, and children have uniquely prepared me for the work I do today. I understand babies. I understand their cues, their needs, and their rhythms. I know how to create a calm environment where children feel safe and parents can relax. Whether your newborn needs extra patience, your toddler needs room to explore, or your family is navigating a unique journey, my goal is always the same—to provide an experience that feels comfortable, supportive, and joyful.

There is a special place in my heart for children with medical complexities, developmental differences, and special needs. Throughout my career, I have witnessed incredible strength and resilience in these children and their families. It is an honor to create portraits that celebrate their beauty, dignity, and the love that surrounds them.

As both a therapist and photographer, I have learned one important truth: childhood passes far too quickly.

Tiny fingers grow. Baby curls disappear. The sleepy newborn who once fit perfectly in your arms becomes a busy toddler, then a confident child, and before you know it, an adult building a life of their own. These moments are precious gifts, entrusted to us for only a short season.

I understand this not only professionally, but personally.

My husband Rick and I have been blessed to raise three wonderful daughters, and today our family continues to grow through the joy of grandchildren. Watching our children become parents themselves has deepened my appreciation for photographs and the stories they preserve. The images we treasure most are not necessarily the perfect ones. They are the ones that remind us how a season felt—the tiny hands wrapped around ours, the sibling giggles, the bedtime snuggles, and the overwhelming love that filled our home.

Those are the moments I want to preserve for my clients.

My faith also shapes the way I approach both life and business. I believe every child is wonderfully made and every family has a story worth remembering. Psalm 127:3 reminds us:

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.”

That truth shapes everything I do.

When you step into my studio, you are not simply hiring a photographer. You are trusting someone who has spent a lifetime working with children, serving families, and understanding just how quickly these seasons pass. You are trusting someone who prioritizes safety, values connection, and understands that the experience matters just as much as the final images.

My sessions are intentionally relaxed, child-led, and designed to create a luxury experience from beginning to end. From planning your session to selecting artwork for your home, every detail is thoughtfully curated to help you enjoy the process while creating meaningful heirlooms that will be cherished for generations.

From my studio in Valley City, I proudly serve families throughout Northeast Ohio, including Brunswick, Medina, Strongsville, Hinckley, North Royalton, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Avon, Avon Lake, Westlake, Rocky River, Cleveland, and the surrounding communities. Whether you are welcoming your first baby, celebrating a growing family, or documenting multiple generations together, I would be honored to help preserve your story.

My purpose is simple:

To help you hold onto the moments that matter most.

Through timeless artwork, heartfelt storytelling, and a gentle approach shaped by nearly 30 years of caring for children, I create images that allow you to revisit these precious moments for generations to come.

I am honored to tell your family’s story.
